Meet Our Team
Hi everyone! My name is Munchie and I am a 10 year old Domestic Short Hair. My fans sometimes refer to me as “Sir Munchie,” although I think the title of “King” may be more suitable. The staff at Companion Pet Hospital graciously adopted me in 2005, after I was relinquished by my owners. Since that time I’ve been busy running the hospital; my duties include acting as a greeter, counselor, and dog and cat treat tester. I am also the hospital’s feline blood donor and have saved the lives of several kitties.
Realizing that I am slightly portly, I recently began dieting to shed a couple of pounds. My friends here at Companion try to encourage me to exercise by tempting me with a feather boa toy, but I rarely fall for it. I am usually preoccupied with lounging and meeting new people and pets!
During my spare time, I enjoy snoozing, basking in the sun, begging for treats, and posing for photo shoots for my very own Facebook page! I consider myself lucky to have found such a wonderful home with so many amazing human and furry friends. I hope that you will visit us at Companion Pet Hospital and I personally look forward to meeting you.
Kathy – Office Manager
Although Kathy started working for us as a receptionist in July, 2000, she actually began coming here as a little girl as the granddaughter of one of the practice’s first clients when opened in 1983. Kathy earned an Associate’s Degree from Krissler Business Institute in November, 1997, and she happily takes on all tasks that she is asked to do. When she is not working, she loves spending time with her husband, Tom and their daughters Natalee and Olivia. They have three very spoiled dogs named Honey, Milly and Macy; they also have one cat named Stuart. Kathy enjoys taking pictures with her digital camera and spending time with family and friends.
Chris – Veterinary Receptionist
Chris has come full circle, having worked at Companion Pet Hospital when it first opened. She attended school at Westchester Community College and Western Connecticut State College. Chris is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. After working for 10 years at Carmel Animal Hospital and two years at Companion Pet Hospital, Chris left to join her husband in their own construction business. After 20 years it was time for a change, so here she is back with us again as of May 2008. She enjoys the challenge of learning new things on the job. Outside of work Chris loves to go riding with her husband John on their motorcycle and is trying (so far unsuccessfully) to play the drums. Chris and John live in Lagrange.
Mellisa – Head Licensed Veterinary Technician
Mellisa began working at Companion Pet Hospital as a kennel assistant in high school. She grew very fond of working with animals and decided she was interested in pursuing the veterinary technician field. Mellisa attended SUNY Delhi where she graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Science. While attending school she continued to work here during school breaks and summer vacations. After graduation she began working full time and is now our head technician. Mellisa really enjoys small animal dentistry and keeping everyone on track. She has two pets of her own a dog and a cat, both of which were adopted from Companion Pet Hospital. Outside of work Mellisa loves going hiking and shopping at the mall. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Lauren – Licensed Veterinary Technician
Lauren began working at Companion Pet Hospital as a kennel assistant during her senior year in high school. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Mercy College and became a licensed veterinary technician in 2012. After graduation, Lauren began working full-time as a technician. Her areas of interest include dentistry and laser light therapy. Outside of the hospital, Lauren enjoys volunteering her time at North Highlands Fire Department and working with her horse, Peanut. She also has two cats and two Australian Shepherds.
Robbyn – Licensed Veterinary Technician
Robbyn began working at Companion Pet Hospital as a kennel assistant during her senior year in high school. She received her Associates of Science degree from SUNY Ulster and received her certification as an Animal Science Office Assistant.
