Meet Our Team

Munchie

Munchie is a 13-year-old domestic shorthaired cat. His fans sometimes refer to him as “Sir Munchie,” although he thinks the title of “King” may be more suitable. He was adopted by the staff at Companion Pet Hospital in 2005, after being relinquished by his owners. Munchie’s hospital duties include acting as a greeter, counselor, and dog and cat treat tester. He is also the hospital’s feline blood donor and has saved the lives of several kitties. In his spare time, Munchie enjoys snoozing, basking in the sun, begging for treats, and posing for photo shoots for Facebook and Instagram.

Kathy – Office Manager

Kathy started working for us as a receptionist in July, 2000, but her history with our animal hospital goes back much further. Kathy has been a client at our practice for her entire life and is the granddaughter of one of our first clients from 1983! Kathy earned an associate’s degree from Krissler Business Institute and she happily takes on all tasks that she is asked to do as our office manager. When she is not working, she loves spending time with her husband, Tom, and their daughters, Natalee and Olivia. They have three very spoiled dogs named Honey, Milly, and Macy; they also have one cat named Stuart. Kathy enjoys digital photography and spending time with family and friends.

Chris – Veterinary Receptionist

Chris has come full circle, having worked at Companion Pet Hospital when it first opened in 1983. She attended Westchester Community College and Western Connecticut State College, and earned her veterinary technician license. After several years of working as a technician, Chris left Companion Pet Hospital to join her husband in their own construction business. In 2008, she decided it was time for another change and returned to CPHF as a receptionist. She enjoys the challenge of acquiring new skills on the job. Outside of work Chris loves to go riding with her husband, John, on their motorcycle and is learning to play the drums.

Mellisa – Head Licensed Veterinary Technician

Mellisa began working at Companion Pet Hospital as a kennel assistant in high school. She grew very fond of working with animals and decided to pursue a career as a veterinary technician. Mellisa attended SUNY Delhi where she graduated with an associate’s degree in veterinary science. She continued to work at CPHF while attending school and after graduation she began working full time and is now our head technician. Mellisa’s pets, a dog and two cats, were all adopted from Companion Pet Hospital. Outside of work Mellisa loves going hiking and shopping. In May 2015, she and her husband welcomed their son Matthew George into the world. She enjoys her new role of being a Mom and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Lauren – Licensed Veterinary Technician

Lauren began working at Companion Pet Hospital as a kennel assistant during her senior year in high school. After earning her bachelor of science degree from Mercy College, Lauren became a licensed veterinary technician in 2012 and completed an externship at Cornell University Veterinary Specialists in Stamford, CT. Since graduation, Lauren has been working full-time as a technician with interest in dentistry and laser light therapy. Outside of the hospital, Lauren volunteers her time at the North Highlands Fire Department as an NYS Certified Interior Firefighter. She also enjoys working with her horse, Peanut, and loves spending time with her two cats and two Australian shepherds.

Robbyn – Licensed Veterinary Technician

Robbyn began working at Companion Pet Hospital as a kennel assistant during her senior year in high school. After earning her associate of science degree from SUNY Ulster, her certification as an animal science office assistant, and completing an externship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ, she began working full-time as a licensed veterinary technician (LVT). Her areas of interest include emergency medicine and dentistry. Outside of the hospital, Robbyn enjoys dabbling in the field of cosmetology and trying out DIY projects from Pinterest. She loves spending time with her family, friends, and her two Italian greyhounds, Vinny and Luigi.

Gazel – Veterinary Assistant

Gazel began working at Companion Pet Hospital in June 2015 as a veterinary assistant. She is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at SUNY Ulster where her favorite areas of study are anatomy and physiology. She enjoys working at the hospital and learning all about the role of veterinary technician. On her free time she enjoys doing crafts with her daughter, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends.
